Inner Path

Inner Path is a collection of botanical incense created as a quiet journey through changing inner landscapes.

Each blend was composed around a distinct movement of attention — from grounding into the present moment, through gentle activation and opening, toward release and spaciousness.

Crafted from aromatic woods, resins, roots and mountain plants, these incense invite a slower rhythm of perception. The rising smoke becomes less a scent in space than a subtle companion to contemplation, creative practice, tea, meditation, or the simple act of pausing within the day.
Rather than filling a room, Inner Path seeks to shape an atmosphere — one that supports reflection, ritual and moments of quiet awareness.

ground

presence · stability

Ground evokes the quiet strength of roots reaching deep into the earth.

Sandalwood, guaiacwood, himalayan juniper, pine and precious agarwood create a warm and steady composition, enriched by the resinous depth of sandarac and labdanum. The aroma unfolds slowly, bringing a sense of weight, warmth, and gentle containment.

Its character is calm and reassuring, like a landscape that remains unchanged beneath passing weather. A fragrance that accompanies moments of stillness and offers a feeling of returning to something essential.

flow

soft movement · ease

Flow moves like water finding its course.

Cedarwood and hinoki provide a clear wooden structure, while iris root introduces a subtle softness and quiet elegance. Agarwood and mastic lend depth without heaviness, creating a composition that feels spacious, balanced, and alive.

Neither stimulating nor sedating, Flow inhabits the space between effort and rest. It accompanies gradual movement, sustained attention, and the natural rhythm of creative work.

unfold

clarity · openness

Unfold is composed around the feeling of space emerging.

Several cedar varieties intertwine with sandalwood, hinoki, and guaiacwood, creating a transparent woody structure illuminated by delicate resins. Myrrh and Siam benzoin add warmth and depth while preserving an overall sense of lightness.

The fragrance expands gently rather than asserting itself. Layers appear and dissolve, inviting a quieter mode of perception where thoughts soften and awareness broadens.

exhale

release · deep calm

Exhale carries the atmosphere of evening.

A foundation of sandalwood — including a small portion of aged sandalwood — is joined by palo santo, cedar, Himalayan juniper, and luminous resins from Oman and Southeast Asia. Together they create a soft, rounded composition with a lingering warmth.

The fragrance settles gradually into the surrounding space, encouraging a sense of completion and ease. Like the final breath after a long day, it invites everything unnecessary to fall away.

discovery set

ground · flow · unfold · exhale

The Discovery Set brings together all four incense from the Inner Path collection.

Each blend represents a different movement within a continuous cycle: grounding into presence, moving with ease, opening into clarity, and releasing into stillness. Experienced together, they reveal subtle shifts in atmosphere and perception, offering different companions for different moments.

Handcrafted in small batches from aromatic woods, natural resins, roots, and mountain botanicals, the collection invites a slower way of inhabiting time — attentive to rhythm, breath, and the changing qualities of experience.

A quiet journey through four landscapes of being.

materials & packaging

The packaging of Inner Path was developed as an extension of the collection itself — quiet, tactile and grounded in material presence.

Each box is made from carefully selected papers by Gmund Papier, a historic paper mill in Bavaria. Since 1829, Gmund has produced papers shaped by a commitment to craftsmanship, environmental responsibility and innovation in sustainable materials. Located on the shores of Lake Tegernsee, in one of the most beautiful Alpine regions of southern Germany, the mill remains deeply connected to its natural surroundings and regional heritage.

The papers were chosen not only for their environmental qualities, but for their distinctive tactile character. Their surfaces invite touch before the object is even opened. Colours remain soft, nuanced and alive, responding subtly to changing light throughout the day. Rather than functioning as a neutral container, the packaging becomes part of the experience itself — an object intended to age naturally and remain present within a living space.

Produced regionally in Bavaria using renewable energy and resource-conscious manufacturing processes, the paper reflects values that resonate closely with the philosophy of Herbarium Studio: material integrity, sustainability, and a respect for slow, thoughtful making.

making process

Every Inner Path incense is handcrafted in small batches at Herbarium Studio in Munich.

The compositions are built from carefully selected botanical materials sourced from different regions of the world — aromatic woods, rare resins, roots, herbs and spices, each chosen for its character, depth and ability to contribute to a balanced whole. Rather than pursuing intensity, the process focuses on harmony, allowing individual materials to remain recognizable while becoming part of a larger composition.

Blending, forming, drying and packaging are carried out by hand in the studio. This slower approach allows attention to remain close to the material throughout each stage of production. Variations in texture, colour and form are embraced as part of the natural character of handcrafted work.

Inner Path emerges through a process of observation, adjustment and repetition — a gradual refinement guided by the materials themselves. The result is a collection shaped not by uniformity, but by presence, patience and the quiet dialogue between maker and material.

Inner Path is an invitation to move through the day with greater attention.

Each composition offers a different atmosphere, unfolding through scent, time and presence.
